A connected perspective

Technology decisions.
Human considerations.

AeFT works at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence and business consultancy. Our focus is helping organizations consider how emerging technologies can fit real settings, serve people and develop into practical business opportunities.

01 / ADOPTION

Robotics & AI strategy

Clarifying potential applications, operating needs and the practical questions behind introducing robotics and AI into a business or consumer setting.

02 / DEVELOPMENT

Commercialization

Considering business models, partnerships and deployment approaches that connect a technology concept with the people and organizations it is intended to serve.

03 / OWNERSHIP

Risk & lifecycle research

Exploring how robot identity, ownership, utilization, maintenance and incident history could inform a more complete understanding of consumer robot risk.

Research for an emerging category

Understanding the risks
of living with robots.

As consumer robots become part of homes and daily life, ownership brings new questions about responsibility, use, maintenance and incidents. AeFT’s status as a licensed insurance agency supports a research focus on this emerging field.

Our aim is to help develop the data foundations and risk-scoring approaches that could inform future consumer robot ownership insurance.

This work is exploratory. A validated risk score or a robot ownership insurance policy is not offered through this website.

  1. 01

    Identify the robot

Consistent identity and configuration records provide a starting point for understanding the machine and its intended role.

  2. 02

    Understand its history

Ownership, operating context, utilization, maintenance and incident records can add context over time, with appropriate consent and data safeguards.

  3. 03

    Research the risk

Investigate which factors may be useful for future scoring and underwriting research, subject to evidence and validation.
